We strongly
believe that the key strategy to confronting the pandemic is the recognition
of Human rights of people living with HIV/AIDS in Africa
NAP+ will
strive to implement its objectives to ensure maximum impact aimed at
supporting people living with HIV/AIDS in Africa. It hopes to do so
through the following activities:
REGIONAL ADVOCACY AGENDA
The regional
Advocacy agenda is the policy platform guiding the advocacy work of
NAP+. The agenda consists of three key areas: Advocacy for universal
access to care and Treatment, Advocacy for stigma and discrimination
reduction; and meaningful involvement and empowerment of people living
with HIV/AIDS, in Africa.
- We advocate
for the meaningful involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHAs)
and affected communities in all aspects of the HIV/AIDS response.
- We protect and promote human rights in our work.
- We apply public health principles within our work
- We address the causes of vulnerability to HIV infection and the impacts
of HIV/AIDS
- Our programs are informed by evidence in order to respond to the needs
of those most vulnerable to HIV/AIDS and its consequences.

communities to an integrated range of programs to meet their needs.
- We design or adapt development programs to reduce vulnerability to
HIV infection and meet the needs of PLHA and affected communities
- We ensure that our humanitarian programs reduce vulnerability to HIV
infection and address the needs of PLHA and affected communities
- Our programs for orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS
(OVC) are child-centered, family and community focused and rights based.
- We advocate for an environment that supports effective mainstreaming
of HIV/AIDS
- We advocate for an enabling environment that addresses the underlying
causes of vulnerability to HIV/AIDS
